NPS Scout Ranger Program

posted Jun 28, 2013, 3:18 PM by Cub Scout
If your family plans to visit a National Park this summer, consider participating in the Junior Ranger programs.  They are educational and can help you learn things you wouldn't ordinarily learn about the park.  A free patch is issued at the Junior Ranger stations in the park at the completion of the program.

If you plan to spend significant time in the parks, consider the Scout Ranger program (PDF).  This program requires 10 hours of time, which can include Ranger Talks, and the time it takes to work on the Junior Ranger program.  Volunteer programs in the park also count toward the 10 hours if your really ambitious.  A separate patch (pictured here) is available at the completion of the 10 hours required for this program.
